A retaining wall is a structure designed and constructed to resist the lateral pressure of soil when there is a desired change in ground elevation that exceeds the angle of repose of the soil. These walls are used in a variety of applications including right-of-way restrictions, protection of existing structures that must remain in place, grade separations, new highway embankment construction, roadway widening, stabilization of slopes, protection of environmentally sensitive areas, staging, and temporary support including excavation or underwater construction support, etc. The most important consideration in proper design and installation of retaining walls is to recognize and counteract the tendency of the retained material to move downslope due to gravity. This creates lateral earth pressure behind the wall which depends on the angle of internal friction and the cohesive strength of the retained material, as well as the direction and magnitude of movement the retaining structure undergoes.

    İstinat duvarını hesapladığınız excel dosyasında hafifletme konsolunun yatay itkide meydana getirdiği azaltmayı dikkat almamışsınız. Sizce bunları hem zemine aktarılan gerilmeyi hesaplarken hemde momentleri hesaplarken dikkate almak gerekmez mi?

    Thank you for your great work.
    I would like to make some indication for possible future improvements:
    – soil data – maybe we can use a value for an echivalent ϕ behind the wall and a ϕ in front of the wall; for higher heights, in most cases we have multiple layers behind the wall
    – it would be great to set partial safety factors according to EC 7
    – it would be great calculate the steel area according to EC2 and EC8 for seismic areas
    If needed I can help with this improvements.

      Thank you for some indication you made.

      You can make calculation on RETAINING WALL ANALYSIS AND DESIGN v1.1.3 App according to any standards, regulations and procedures from any country. Not only standards from European countries.

      You may use Chinese, Japanese, Australian, American, Canadian, Turkish etc. regulations and standards to be reference for your calculations. The only thing you’are going to need just well understanding for reference standards, regulations or procedures. If you well understand the code, you can input suitable data and you can check the results which is appropriate or not for the code.

    Macro kullanmadan buton koymak ve sol tarafın sabit olup sağ tarafın o buton ile yer değiştirmesini sağlamakla ilgili bir iki ipucu veya bir site önerebilir misiniz?

    Turan Bey kullanışlı bir uygulama olmuş emeğiniz için teşekkürler. Fakat deprem yükleri bölümünde yapı önem katsayısını (Io) ve etkin yer çekimi ivmesini (Ao) değiştirdiğimizde hata veriyor. Teşekkürler.

      Uygulamanin yeni surumu v1.1.3 yayimlandi. v1.1.3 ile artik (Io) ve (Ao) degerleri el ile girilebilmektedir.
